Why should you have a professional clean your carpets?

As a homeowner, you have invested a sizable amount in your floor coverings so it makes sense to protect your investment.  To keep your carpets looking their best, most carpet manufacturers recommend their carpets be cleaned by hot water extraction or steam cleaned.  The hot water extraction cleaning process is much more effective way of removing sand, dirt and debris that gets trapped in the carpet fibers and will cause damage if allowed to sit in the carpet fibers; if not removed. 

 

All carpet is not created equally and therefore, not all cleaning agents can be used on all carpets.  The professionals at Carpet Surgeon Inc. will examine your carpet, identify the carpet fiber and then clean your carpet with the proper cleaning agent that works best on that particular fiber.  Having your carpets professionally cleaned will protect them from damage while protecting your family from unwanted health hazards that can be hiding in your carpet.

What many of us don’t realize is the amount of debris and contaminants that hide in our carpets.   Stop and think about everything you walk through outside and ultimately track into your house every day via your shoes.  Of course, many of these hazards are too small to see but they are still there.  They not only cause illnesses, but a large amount of allergies are caused by the dust, fungi, mites, smoke, animal hair, etc that are trapped in carpet fibers.

Before Our Arrival:

It’s easy to get ready for us! We ask that you remove fragile items from the areas to be cleaned. We’ll move the furniture when we arrive.

 

While We Are There:

 

Upon arrival we will:

  • Pre-inspect areas to be cleaned and discussing any concerns.
  • Answer any of your questions so you feel comfortable with our service.
  • Carefully move furniture (except large items, such as china cabinets, pianos, entertainment centers, armoires, large beds, etc.)
  • Target areas for pre-treatment to ensure a thorough cleaning.
  • Deep clean all areas using our hot water extraction.
  • Reposition the furniture onto foil tabs or foam blocks to protect the furniture and carpet.
  • Also available, we offer pet odor treatment and carpet protectant (at an additional cost) upon request.

 

After the Cleaning:

 

What to expect after we are done: Our state of the art truck-mounted system removes most of the moisture from the carpet. It will still be damp to the touch.

  • Placing fans in any rooms we have cleaned and turning on your air conditioning can help to accelerate the drying time. The idea is to keep the air moving.
  • Leave the protective pads under the furniture until the carpet is completely dry to prevent any color transfer from the furniture to your lovely clean carpet.
  • You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning, however it is best to limit wearing street shoes, as they may return soil to the carpet. Use caution when walking from a damp carpeted area onto a non-carpeted area. This will prevent slipping.
  • If you are not completely satisified with our work , please notify us within a 10 day period of this cleaning so we can address your concerns.

Cleaning Carpets

4-Step Process

  1. Dry vacuum to remove loose soil and debris from carpet.
  2. Apply a heated pre-spray at a temperature of 150 degrees (to help remove stubborn stains).
  3. Steam/extract/rinse at a temperature of 220 degrees
  4. Additional extraction strokes to remove as much moisture as possible to ensure proper drying.

 

Upholstery Care

While it is often clear to see when your carpet needs to be cleaned, many people overlook their furniture and office partitions.  Even though the upholstery on your chairs and other furniture may not appear to be heavily soiled, the contaminants are still there. 

 

Just like carpet fibers, the fabric holds dirt, animal hairs, germs and other unwanted particles that can irritate allergies or cause health problems.  A regular cleaning of all upholstery and application of a soil protectant will keep your home or office healthy. 

 

Leather Cleaning
