Hardwood Floor Cleaning

Carpet Surgeon Inc. starts with a cleaning solution specifically made for hardwood floors and then uses a low-speed buffer machine to remove soil and scuff marks from the surface. The final step of the process is polishing the floor to a beautiful shine.

Most manufacturers recommend a professional cleaning at least once a year to keep the floor looking its best and to make it last longer.

Hardwood Floor Resurfacing

Not long ago, the only way to restore scratches to hardwood floors was to have the floor completely resanded and refinished.  This process was both costly and time consuming, but now, Carpet Surgeon Inc. offers its customers a better way.

We start by cleaning your hardwood floor which our specialized solution and then apply a cleaning formula that removes the top layer of the existing finish, which ensures the adhesion of additional coats of finish.  Any gouges or cracks are fixed before the initial coat of finish is applied and once the first coat has dried, a second coat is added.

Our customers can choose either a matte or satin finish.  The matte finish gives your floor that natural look while the satin finish has a little shine to it.

Laminate Installation

As you can see, carpet services are not our only area of expertise.  The staff at Carpet Surgeon Inc. will install laminate flooring in the greater Portland area.

Give us a call to set up an appointment for one of our professionals to come to your location for an estimate.

Carpet Surgeon Inc. does all the work so you can just concentrate on enjoying your new floor.

Follow these tips for hardwood floor care as recommended by the National Wood Floor Association and keep your floors looking their best.

  • Use walk-off mats at all exterior doors.
  • Apply fabric-faced glides to the legs of your furniture.
  • Strong sunlight can cause a floor to fade or change colors so occasionally remove area rugs to help even out floor color.
  • Vacuum or sweep your wood floors when you vacuum your carpets.
  • Immediately wipe up any spills with a damp (not wet) cloth. Standing water or moisture will damage your wood floors.
  • Avoid soaps and oils as they may build up and create future problems.
  • For everyday cleaning, use a cleaner that is specifically made for wood floors.
  • When moving furniture, protect floor to prevent damage and scratches from sharp edges.

. . .most incredible service for the price I may have ever had! I’ve never been happier with a company and its service. FABULOUS!

Tile & Grout Care

With a little help from the Carpet Surgeon Inc., you can say goodbye to scrubbing your tile floors and just enjoy them.  Serving the Portland metro area and Vancouver Washington, Carpet Surgeon Inc. offers professional cleaning and sealing of your tile floors.

Carpet Surgeon Inc. recommends you have your tile floor sealed after our high-pressure cleaning procedure is complete.  While tile is a low maintenance material, it is important to have your floors sealed (after cleaning), as it will be much easier for you to keep them looking their best.

What do I do after my tile and grout is cleaned?

  • The first thing you should do is have your clean floor sealed (Carpet Surgeon offers this service as well). This will keep your tile and grout from getting stained and will make maintaining your floors a snap.
  • Do not move furniture or area rugs back onto a wet floor.
  • Wipe up any spills immediately!  Don’t give the spill a chance to stain your great looking floor.
  • Say goodbye to scrubbing your floors and start to enjoy them!

Long Term Care

Tile and Grout maintenance primarily involves cleaning and sealing the grout to protect against stains.  Tile is extremely durable and requires little on-going maintenance other than normal cleaning.  A spill, however, that is allowed to sit on a joint for a length of time could leave a permanent discoloration.  As long as the spill is cleaned up quickly, they should not stain the grout.
